Virginia Rappe (1895-1921) was an up-and-coming model and actress of the 1910s and early 1920s. She became a victim of circumstance in September of 1921 while at a party in Fatty Arbuckle’s suite in San Francisco’s St. Francis hotel. The only known happening is that she died of a ruptured bladder and peritonitis. There is suspicion, however, that she was sexually assaulted by Arbuckle himself. Not much is known about the whole affair, other than that Rappe was dead and Arbuckle was blacklisted, as well as socially outcasted.
